Arlington, Texas | March 22-25, 2017: The 2017 NMRA National Championships wrapped up at the famous Maverick Athletic Club, after fielding 93 players in 15 brackets of exhausting competition, and awarding dozens of gold medals to top-flight masters athletes. McAdam Sets Record

Bob McAdam was inducted into the NMRA Hall of Fame in 2005, and has plenty of court time under his belt. His son Tom McAdam was honored by the National Senior Games Association last year, and you can catch grandson Matt competing at National Intercollegiates or playing at the Denver Athletic Club. Racquetball certainly runs in this family, but it doesn't stop there. In November, Denver's 9News reported how, at 96 and legally blind, Bob set a world record by completing the Highlands Ranch Turkey Trot 5k in 48:19. In Passing: Grant “Spoony” Morrill

Sad News | Grant Morrill, Jr. Passes, 10/09/16. Much-beloved throughout his life and career Grant Morrill, 79, died at the Hershey Medical Center, after many years as "Spoony the Clown" and a Zembo Shrine Clown named "Boss". Earlier he had served in the U.S. Air Force (1955-59) and in the U.S. Navy (1959-64) and traveled the world. He was an avid golfer with 18 documented holes in one, as well as a local, state, national and world racquetball champion. He was a long-time supporter of NMRA and was inducted into the Capital Area Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. [ Penn Live article & obituary ]...

Future Fund Growth

By Mike Grisz, Board Secretary and Future Fund Executive Director The NMRA serves its membership by hosting three tournaments per year in alternative locations. The NMRA Board wants to promote racquetball for its members and to expand our membership and increase participation in our tournaments. We had members give us contributions over the years and have established the NMRA Future Fund. I am now in the role of managing the assets of the fund and working with a Future Fund Committee and the Board to use these funds in the best interests of our membership. Given that our priorities are to increase membership and to provide world-class tournaments, the Future Fund is meant to ensure the long-term success of the NMRA. We aim to increase the size of the fund to use it as an endowment for the advancement of our sport and our organization. We need all of our members’ help in this regard.
